                                                         Labelon embraces Green initiatives

Labelon takes ‘green issues’ very seriously and is working towards the renowned sustainability FSC accreditation, as well as meeting the strict standards of REACH regarding chemical usage.

Reach (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation of Chemicals) is a major project and Rik Green, Labelon’s Safety and Environmental Officer, is responsible for ensuring Labelon and its suppliers meet the requirements of ECHA (European Chemicals Agency), the European body that controls the use of toxic substances.

“If you use a chemical on one of ECHA’s lists, you have two options; either register it, or replace it,” explained Rik. “Since the introduction of our declaration form, all suppliers have told us that they are not using any of the chemicals listed on the latest Candidate List.”

Labelon is also working towards the international environmental ISO4001 approval standard, as well as FSC approval ensuring that all our suppliers are using only sustainable FSC products.
