Setting the standard in digital print Labelon has added a new digital press to the printing suite in Braintree, UK. We asked Marc Burlong, Operations Manager, for a rundown of what this would mean to customers ... “The machine is an HP Indigo 3500 and the Indigo range has set the standard in the industry in terms of quality and productivity. The press has all sorts of technical benefits, including a multidimensional workflow that includes a high performance RIP on-board internet connectivity and advanced colour management. The press can offer a scope of four colour printing to the full Indi-chrome colour system utilising the full seven colour stations.” Well, we did ask! Seriously though, from a customer perspective there are a number of important benefits. “Having the machine in-house will give us much more control of the jobs,” Marc continued. “This allows us to offer a more efficient service and has dramatically reduced our error rate and hence delivery to customers has improved. “The machine is currently being used for short-run, variable data work but it is allowing us to look into new avenues where we can expand our product offering into many new and cutting-edge print applications. For example, we are investigating providing on-demand, high-quality short runs as well as personalised print jobs.” |
